January 05, 2008
Executive Committee Members Present: Terri Niznik, Cindy
Bauer, Becca Coffey, Joyce Clothier, Lois Sanford and Robin Patterson
Meeting called to order at 9:15 by Terry Niznik There are 20 members
and 2 guests present.
Minutes on the internet approved.
Executive Committees Reports
President:
Terry let all know meeting dates for 2008 will be in an email to
members and in the newsletter.
She also let us know there are committee chairs that we need. A
sign up sheet was passed around for sign-ups.
Peggi and Sandi Severini will host the Picnic on July 26, 2008
and they will be catering it for us.
We will need to find a person to help Lois with the newsletter
as she will want to start training someone before she steps down
next year.
We went over the Survey for door prizes.
A motion made by Kate Dowd to have a painted item for the door
prize each chapter meeting and charge $2.00 per ticket. Joyce Clothier
2nd the motion. Motion carried.
After the meeting the old and new board will meet to exchange note
books.
Budget will be sent to all via e-mail and will be voted on at Feb
2008 meeting.
Vice President:
Becca Coffey went into detail about Saturday meeting programs.
There was a sign up sheet to see if anyone wanted to teach any
programs.
Secretary:
Cindy requested that all 2007 and outstanding receipts be handed
in.
Newsletter/Communications:
Lois apologized for the computer problems she was having. Articles
for the newsletter are due today.
Committee Reports
We need a Bazaar chairperson... Julie Becker took the position;
Retreat will be the 26, 27, 28 of September 2008.
We are committed for 32 people which means we have to have at least
28 attend. We talked about the 2009 retreat and all agreed to stay
where we are and have our commitment for only 25 people. The retreat
for 2009 is the 2nd weekend in September.
Seminars: Eileen talked
to us about Janelle Johnson. We have her on the calendar for April
5th and 6th .
We asked how many would still like to have her with a show of hands
and the response was positive. Eileen let us know we have Leila
Lundberg on the calendar for Oct 18, 19.
Old Business
We approved the dates and deposit for the 2009 retreat. Terri went
over the door prize survey. It was decided that a member paint
a door prize - 1 per month. Several signed up on the sign up sheet.
Audrey Hodges made a motion to keep the Bazaar for 2008 and Carolyn
Culwell 2nd the motion.
No unfinished business.
New Business
Homemade anything auction will be in May. Chairman still needed
for other months. Eileen will take the hospitality tote for the
coffee and odds and ends.
Edi Finkleman made a plea for anyone who could to go to convention.
Announcements:
Joyce Painted an Easter basket for Marilyn and brought plastic eggs and paper pieces for everyone who would like to write her a note.
Beth announced that the Wild Life Experience was currently showing work by Robert Bateman from now till June. It is located at the South end of Denver – from I-25 turn East on Lincoln Ave. ½ mile toward Parker – they have a lunch cafeteria also.
The High Plains Chapter is having a Rosemary West seminar in June. Small trunk and will be open to members only through the end of March $65. for non-members after that for $85.
They will also be having Brenda Stewart in the future.
Meeting was adjourned at 10:35.
